Frank Brady Named Finalist for Purpose Prize

Frank J. Brady, chairman and founder of MMC, has been named a finalist in the Purpose Prize program for his work improving children's access to healthcare through technology. Created by Civic Ventures, a San Francisco-based think tank, the Purpose Prize program recognizes individuals over the age of 60 for their social innovations and achievements. Brady, one of 15 finalists to be awarded $10,000, relies on Polycom donations of video communications systems to link the hospital network and volunteer doctors he has formed to diagnose critically ill children and teach medical personnel around the world.more>>

The Tech Museum of Innovation, one of the country's leading science and technology museums, has named Medical Missions for Children as a 2006 Tech Museum Awards Laureate. The Tech Museum of Innovation, located in San Jose, California, named 25 Laureates for the prestigious Tech Museum Awards Program, presented by Applied Materials, Inc., which celebrates those who leverage new and existing technologies to benefit humanity. This esteemed group of Laureates was selected from among 951 entries received representing 98 countries by program partner, Santa Clara University's Center for Science, Technology, and Society.more>>

MSUGVLM Expanding to MSU Campus

Medical Missions for Children and Montclair State University (MSU) are presently exploring a relationship that supports the mission of each organization. MMC is exploring locating the Global Video Library of Medicine (GVLM) on the campus of MSU in order to take advantage of their state-of-the-art data center and communications infrastructure. MSU is the state of New Jersey's second largest university. Founded in 1908, MSU currently has more than 16,000 students in undergraduate and graduate programs.more>>

MMC to Partner in Spanish Language Medical Center

On December 5, 2006, at the offices of Medical Missions for Children in Paterson, NJ, a Strategic Agreement was reached between Medical Missions for Children and the Mexican Children's Hospital (Hospital Infantil de Mexico Federico Gomez - HIMFG) to establish a Spanish-language television network in Mexico for the purpose of broadcasting medical education programming.

The soon-to-be announced broadcast channel, named "Canal de la Salud" will air Spanish-language videos produced in Mexico by the Mexican Center of Health Education by Television (Centro Mexicano de Educacion en Salud por Television, CEMESATEL). Content provided by MMC from the Global Video Library of Medicine will be close-captioned in Spanish. It is expected that initial broadcasting will commence in February 2007.more>>
